The Fabric of Life Foundation (501(c)(3) is an international economic development foundation whose primary purpose is to support cooperative and micro-finance activities that improve the quality of life for poor families and their communities.  The Foundation funds projects that support the cooperative principles of self-help, thrift, social responsibility, education, non-discrimination and cooperation among cooperatives.

Specifically, the mission of the Foundation is to form partnerships with programs that promote:

- Multi-purpose cooperatives for economically disadvantaged populations in developing countries
- Micro-enterprises for the poorest of the poor to help them become economically active
- Micro-credit -- small loans without collateral -- primarily to women entrepreneurs who would otherwise be unable to obtain credit
- Basic education and specialized training for entrepreneurs in developing countries
- Affordable health care in the communities serving the poorest of the poor
- Educating people in the US about economic development issues in developing countries.
