Day 1 Upon arrival in Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) you will be met by your guide/driver and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Day for community project/activity. In the morning, take the Sustainability tour of Rosa Blanca, to learn about all the ways in which this hotel is protecting and conserving the environment. Then, visit the local community where you will meeting the children and teachers of Barrio Jesus Elementary School, the volunteer mothers at the Children’s Food Bank and the wonderful folks at the Senior Citizens Center, Recycling Center and Clinic as well as local artists and artisans.

Arrival Weather Anytime is a wonderful time to be in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has two seasons; the Dry Season from December-April and the Green Season from May-November. The Green Season brings late afternoon or evening showers and fewer crowds. Currency The currency of Costa Rica is the Colon. U.S. dollars and major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express are widely accepted. It is common for some establishments to add a surcharge of 7-8% to the credit card purchases. U.S. dollars can be exchanged at banks, international airports and most hotels. Many smaller establishments only accept cash, so please bring small denominations. ATM's are becoming more popular but will not be found in many of the remote regions covered on your trip. The airport bank may cash only $50 worth of Costa Rican currency back into U.S. dollars for departing travelers. Entry Requirements All U.S. citizens including children require passports to enter Costa Rica. U.S. passports must be valid at least 6 months or longer beyond the dates of your trip. We recommend that you carry a photocopy of the passport and leave the original in a safe place while traveling about. Immunizations None are required for travel to Costa Rica. If you have specific health concerns, you should speak to your personal physician before traveling. Day 8 Morning transfer to the airstrip in Puerto Jiménez where you will board the local flight to San José. Transfer to the hotel and free afternoon to pack.

Day 9 Transfer to the Juan Santamaría Airport in San José (SJO) for your international flight back home. Meals: Breakfast
Day 5 Morning transfer to the Quepos airstrip, where you will board the local flight to Puerto Jiménez. Here, the representatives from Lapa Ríos will pick you up and take you to the hotel.

Today you will choose one of the following activities: wild waterfalls hike, local medicine walk, starfish walk, rainforest ridge walk, the Osa Trail and Matapalo Tour. You will also plant a tree in the "Volunteer Rain Forest", thus helping expand the rainforest into a second-growth area.

Day 3 Today you will drive to the Central Pacific Coast. En route you will stop in the village Orotina to taste some of the most delicious tropical fruits. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon there will be a boat tour in the Damas estuary.

Day 4 Visit Manuel Antonio National Park, the smallest park in our system. For this reason it is very easy to spot all kinds of wildlife here. At noon, return to the hotel, for a free afternoon.
