Easter Island Exploration Logistics

Inclusions:
• Casas Rapa Nui (Rani room) or Posada de Mike Rapu (Varua rooms), 3 or 4 nights accommodation (depending on the program selected) with daily bottled water in the rooms.
• Best vehicles with air-conditioning on Easter Island with local ENGLISH speaking guide. Excursions and transfers in the island are shared with other guests from the hotels (groups maximum 6 pax).
• All meals during the stay in Easter Island, including box lunch for Full day excursions.
• Tips for airport and hotel porters.
• Bottled water on vehicle during excursions

Easter Island Exploration Day 4: Easter Island
Morning to enjoy the activities offered by the hotel.
After lunch in the afternoon, you will be invited to visit the island in a different perspective accompanied by your experienced guide Mr José Letelier.
Born in Santiago de Chile, Jose Morel is the son of Orlando Letelier, the former Chilean Ambassador to US. An architect by training, Jose is involved in tourism related activities as well as consulting on several architectural monument & environmental conservation projects on Easter Island.

At the end of the tour, you will be invited to a champagne sundowner at the
Moais. Ahu Tahai i--a site that was restored in 1967 by archaeologist William
Mulloy, and is one of the oldest (7th century) on Easter Island.
The moai on Ahu Ko Te Riku, stands 4.73 meters high, and has an estimated
weight of 20 tons. Ahu Vai Ure holds 5 different statues, and on Ahu Tahai
stands one lone figure With moais and palm trees in the foreground, and glass
of champagne in-hand, this will be a memorable evening in Rapa Nui.
Dinner at Rapa Nui Home: The key to understanding the history, myths and legends of Easter Island is meeting the people. The program will include the unique opportunity of dining at the home of a local family providing an unforgettable experience and true insight on everyday life on the island.

Easter Island Exploration
Day 5: Easter Island – Santiago
Ritz Carlton Santiago
Direct transfer from hotel to Mataveri airport for a 4-hour flight to Santiago. The flight back to Santiago is one hour shorter due to the stronger West-East currents. Upon arrival at the airport in Santiago, assistance and transfer to the Ritz Carlton Hotel for the last night stay in Chile.

Easter Island Exploration Day 6: Santiago, departure.
In due time, transfer to the airport to board flight back to USA.

The flight to Easter Island is 5 hours from Santiago--crossing
roughly 2500 miles of the Pacific Ocean. You will be met at the airport by
Explora staff and
transferred to the hotel--the latest of Explora's properties--which will be
your base for your stay on the island.

Easter Island is located at 27º09' latitude south and 109º26' latitude west, 3,800 kilometers from the central coast of Chile. An extremely isolated island (Pitcairn is the closest inhabited island located 1,900 kilometers away in the northeast), Easter Island has a reduced area of less than 170 km2. The island is 24km at its longest point and 12km at its widest.
