Take in the stunning vistas of the coastline as you wind your way up into the rugged, mountainous landscape. Stop in a remote village, visit a rural school, bring donations to local families, sit with esteemed village elders, and learn about the challenges faced by the locals who live in these remote mountain villages. This experience provides a snapshot into the cultural contrast between island and mountain life.
Return back to the coast in time to enjoy dinner this evening. Breakfast and lunch is included today.
Day 8: Departure Today is a flexible day with the opportunity to visit a local orphanage, explore Nadi town to browse the markets, or spend a final hour or two relaxing beside the pool or on the beach. When it is time for your flight, you will be transported to the airport and assisted with your check-in formalities. Depart Nadi International Airport.
Fiji Island Exploration Day 3: The Yasawa Islands Today, travel to the remote Fijian village of Malakati. Situated on a beautiful bay, the village offers unique insight into the hospitable local culture. Due to the village’s remoteness, visitors can expect a wonderful welcome and the opportunity to share in the traditional cultural ceremonies and customs that few people have the chance to experience firsthand. Participate in one of the service projects that are ongoing in the village. These projects focus on sustainable development and may involve installing solar panels, constructing showers and bathrooms, and work in the local school.
After a day of cultural exchange and enjoyable insights into village life, your boat will return to your resort for the evening. Breakfast and lunch are included today. Today, enjoy a lovely breakfast next to the ocean before returning to Malakati village to continue with your community service. The project in the afternoon will be a continuation of the previous day’s work. Lunch will be served to you Fijian style in the village community center, and you will have a chance to share stories with the local elders and play with the children. After you have completed your service for the day, it will be time to head back to your resort where you can spend the rest of the afternoon snorkeling, kayaking, or relaxing on the beach.
