Make A Difference (MAD) was established to develop, promote and support orphanages and schools in Africa and India so that disadvantaged children have a chance at rising above poverty.

MAD helps empower orphaned children and youth. They do this by providing programs and services that focus on education, health, job skill training and income generating activities at orphanages and community schools.

Service Opportunities Tanzania:

MAD has partnered with a center for street children, an orphanage full of babies who have been abandoned, and a local organization that works on HIV/AIDS education in Moshi, Tanzania.

They are also sending 22 children to a great school near the gates of Kilimanjaro at an orphanage in Himo, Tanzania, providing them with uniforms and books. At their school MAD has built a computer center and is working on building a library. 

As a volunteer you can help with the following activities:

• Conduct a Workshop on Sanitation
• Prevention of HIV/AIDS and Malaria
• Launch a MAD Environmental Club
• Help the children learn how to read 
• Teach them games and sports
• Garden so the children have fresh veggies and fruit
• Help repair bunk beds, desks and paint
• Build a small library
• Teach music, art and/or drama
• Film projects and help get support
• Help with grant writing to foundations
• Setup micro loans for small businesses.
